Programs

Dariana Spanish School creates a customized class for each student.  Your personal teacher will develop a program that uniquely fits your objectives and ability level. Unless you request otherwise, all of your classes will be one on one and as a result of this personal attention, you will see dramatic skill improvement.

 We also have specialized study programs for Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and many other areas for those with more technical language needs.

For our youngest students, we have a variety of word games that help awaken a child´s interest in Spanish. While they play, they will absorb a new language. Our pool of qualified teachers includes teachers with experience teaching all grades and ages.

Full Immersion program: This program includes four hours of intensive, one on one language lessons every morning for a total of 20 hours per week. Furthermore, each afternoon you will receive an average of 2 hours of language enrichment through cultural activities that reinforce the morning's lessons, an additional 10 hours a week. However, your Spanish language enrichment will not stop there. Because we place you with a carefully selected and typical Leon family, you will be working on your Spanish 7 days a week, 24 hours a day (for you will surely begin dreaming in Spanish). Your host family will not only feed you well, but also offer cultural insight while providing frequent opportunities to practice all you are learning of the language. Our program is designed to provide the equivalent of more than a year of typical academic classes in a very compressed period. We are sure you will be delighted with your studies here...

 Basic program: With this program you can start any day of the week except Sunday. You can select from morning classes, 8:00 am to noon, or afternoon classes form 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This program of 20 class hours per week differs fromthe full immersion program only in that it does not include  afternoon enrichment activities or home stay.  There are, however, several excellent hostels nearby such as Bigfoot, Via Via, Colibri and Casa Iguana where you can stay.  In these hostels, you will encounter many tourists from the United States, Germany, Canada and other parts of the world frequently communicating in English. This makes for an interesting social scene, but at the expense of the full immersion experience.

Tutoring: If you desire even more flexibility, we can arrange tutoring at any time of any day for any length of time.  

Transnica Program: This program provides an opportunity to learn Spanish in three locations across Nicaragua. You will spend one week each in Granada, with its history and colonial style, in San Juan del Sur with its laidback beachside pleasures, and in historical León with its combination of colonial charm and lively student life. With this program you can experience ¨Nica Living¨ in full immersion with all the schools, or take the Transnica with our basic program.
